TERRITORY HOLDINGS

A sporting and training facility before opening — stations set, targets placed, and safety procedure underway in flat morning light.

TH–12In SurveySporting and training facilities

Serious practice. Controlled access.

A surveyed platform thesis for private shooting ranges, sporting clays, trap and skeet facilities, archery ranges, and training grounds — built around safety, credentials, and disciplined operations.

RangePass is a surveyed territory — a strategic platform thesis under study by Territory Holdings. This page describes what the platform is intended to become; it is not an operating product or an available service.

§ 02THE PLACETH–12

Discipline has a home ground.

A facility before opening is all procedure: stations checked in flat morning light, targets set to the millimeter, hearing protection racked in rows, the range officer walking the line the same way every day. Nothing here is casual. The materials are matte, the movements are repeated, and the culture is institutional — precision practiced until it becomes character.

Serious practitioners recognize the atmosphere immediately. Sporting clays, trap and skeet, archery, marksmanship instruction — each is a discipline of restraint, and each depends on facilities where the rules are the point, not the fine print.

Repetition as character. TH–12.
§ 03THE ACCESS PROBLEMTH–12

The access problem

  1. Legitimate private facilities — ranges, clays courses, archery grounds, training centers — still run memberships, orientations, and reservations on paper, phone calls, and whiteboards.

  2. Facility operators carry institutional obligations: credentials to verify, safety rules to enforce, orientations to require, incidents to document. Generic booking software understands none of it.

  3. Participants have no way to carry their standing — certifications, membership status, training history, acknowledged safety rules — from one facility to the next.

  4. A marketplace built for convenience would get this category exactly wrong. Here, safety and legal compliance are not features to balance against ease of use; they are the operating premise.

The category needs an operating system with institutional trust designed in — where credentials precede access, facility rules are enforced by the system rather than the signage, and disciplined operations are what the software is for. RangePass is the surveyed thesis for that system.

§ 04THE PLATFORM06 LAYERS

An operating system, not a listing page.

RangePass would be a category-native operating system for lawful access to legitimate sporting and training facilities — membership, booking, and operations designed around safety, credentials, and facility rules. It would never market weapons; it is intended to manage disciplined access, and nothing else.

Discovery

Facilities findable by discipline, distance, lane or station type, target format, equipment rules, ammunition restrictions, instructor availability, accessibility, membership requirement, and skill level — stated plainly, before anyone applies.

Verified participant profiles

Identity verification, required certifications, membership status, training history, and acknowledged safety rules — designed to travel with the participant across the network.

Facility operating system

Memberships, orientation requirements, lane and station reservations, guest policies, communications, payments, and staff permissions — the administration of a serious facility, in one place.

Instruction and programs

Instructor calendars, classes, and competitions — scheduled, credential-checked, and documented alongside the facility's ordinary operations.

Safety and compliance records

Waivers, credentials, equipment and maintenance records, range-status notices, and incident reporting — the institutional paperwork of the category, kept as a system of record rather than a filing cabinet.

Bookings and payments

Lane and station bookings, classes, competitions, guest fees, equipment rental, and subscriptions — reserved, acknowledged, and paid through one accountable flow.

§ 05TWO SIDES OF ACCESSTH–12

The same day, seen from both sides of the gate.

The member

From finding the right facility to practicing at it — with credentials presented before access, every time.

  1. Find the discipline

Search by discipline, station type, target format, equipment rules, instructor availability, and skill level — with each facility's membership requirements stated up front.

  2. Present credentials

A verified profile — identity, required certifications, membership status, training history — would do the qualifying before the visit, not at the counter.

  3. Complete orientation

Facility rules and orientation requirements acknowledged and recorded before the first reservation is ever possible.

  4. Practice on record

Reserved lanes and stations, logged instruction, entered competitions — a training history that would build standing across the network.

The range operator

Institutional operations without the binder — rules enforced by the system, records kept by design.

  1. Encode the rules

Equipment rules, ammunition restrictions, orientation requirements, guest policies, and skill prerequisites — the facility's terms, acknowledged before access.

  2. Admit the credentialed

Applications reviewed against verified identity, certifications, and training history — so admission is a documented decision.

  3. Run the calendar

Lane and station reservations, instructor schedules, classes, and competitions in one system, with range-status notices reaching everyone they affect.

  4. Keep the record

Equipment and maintenance logs, waivers, credentials, and incident reports — auditable, current, and attached to the operation rather than a drawer.

§ 06TERRITORY INTELLIGENCE08 SIGNALS

Grounded in the actual ground.

RangePass intelligence is intended to recommend facilities, instruction, and practice plans — matching discipline, experience, objectives, credentials, distance, availability, and each facility's actual rules, so a recommendation would always be one the participant is qualified and permitted to act on.

Safety and legal compliance always override convenience. The intelligence layer would never route around a credential requirement, an orientation, or a facility rule to make a booking easier.

SIGNAL INPUTS

  • Discipline and skill level
  • Credentials and certifications
  • Practice objectives
  • Instructor availability
  • Lane and station formats
  • Facility rules and restrictions
  • Membership requirements
  • Distance and availability
§ 07TRUST AND CONTROL06 SYSTEMS

More controlled than a handshake.

This is a category where trust systems are not a layer on the product — they are the product. Everything else is scheduling.

Credential verification

Required certifications and membership status checked at application and re-checked at reservation — never assumed at the gate.

Orientation requirements

Facility-specific safety orientations completed and recorded before access is ever bookable.

Acknowledged safety rules

Equipment rules, ammunition restrictions, and station procedures acknowledged per facility and stored against each participant's record.

Range-status notices

Closures, cold-range periods, maintenance, and condition changes communicated to every affected member and reservation.

Incident reporting

A formal, auditable channel for anything that goes wrong — attached to the records of the facility and everyone involved.

Waivers and documentation

Activity-specific releases, guest policies, and equipment records stored against bookings, memberships, and competitions.

Access that pays the land back.

The economics of the category reward institutions, not volume. Well-run private facilities hold ground, invest in maintenance, and teach discipline across generations — and controlled, credential-first access is intended to make that institutional model more durable, not more crowded. Verified member histories and training records would compound into the kind of trust no listing site can copy.

The commitment that runs through the whole portfolio applies here without exception. One percent of every Territory platform's profits goes to land, water, and habitat conservation.
